Duxbury, Massachusetts – Dave Philbrick, a cherished member of the Duxbury community and a dedicated conservation worker, tragically passed away on November 19, 2024, following a brief but hard-fought battle with leukemia.

Philbrick, who had a passion for the outdoors and worked to create and maintain local trails after retiring, is remembered for his warm personality and the connections he forged with those around him.

He is described by friends as an "amazing maker of playlists" and someone who brought "a lot of laughter" into people's lives.

In an effort to honor his memory, a fundraising campaign has been launched to dedicate a memorial bench on one of the town trails he helped develop.

Duxbury Conservation will collaborate with the organizers to determine the specific location for the bench in the coming weeks.

Philbrick’s loss has left a deep void in the lives of his family, friends, and the community.

"Dave was just a really great guy," said Alex Carleton, who initiated the fundraising campaign in Philbrick’s honor.
